About the University

The “Mediterranea” University of Reggio Calabria is located in the Strait of Messina, in the heart of the Mediterranean Sea, aims to be an internationally renowned European University for research and to provide high level education to its italian and foreign students. The “Mediterranea” University is a multidisciplinary University that trains professionals in different fields: from Architecture, Territory and Urban Planning to Economics, Law and Human Sciences, Engineering, Agribusiness and Environmental.

It counts of six Departments with a didactic platform organized in 21 courses of study, 5 doctorate courses, coordinated by a single School of Research Doctorate, and a School of Specialization for the legal professions.

Its strength lies in the integrated range of disciplines present in it, which give rise to interesting opportunities for interdisciplinarity both in research and in teaching. The didactic and scientific specializations clearly emerge in the PhD programs. Scientists from all over the world participate in research conducted by the University of Reggio Calabria, which is committed to promoting the advancement of young researchers and further developing their educational offerings.

Promote the growth of Calabria Region and the Country through research, training and quality of services for students and the territory, the transmission of values for the ethical and civil development of the community, innovation, the transfer of technology and professional skills in collaboration with economic and social aims, cooperation with research institutions and national and international institutions, with particular reference to the Countries of the Mediterranean basin, represent the mission that the “Mediterranean” is going to pursue

About the Department

The Department of Law, Economics and Human Sciences (Di.Gi.ES) has been awarded, for excellent results in research quality, scientific, organizational and educational planning, by the Ministry of University and Research as Department of Excellence, according to the evaluation parameters of the ANVUR (National Evaluation Agency of the University). The Department according to its mission is characterized by being a scientific community for legality and development. The scientific mixture with Law, Economics and Human Sciences is the peculiarity of the Department, which brings together interdisciplinary paths not only in Teaching, but also in Research and in a specific international PhD School in Law and Economics, carried out jointly with Universities from other Countries.
